DESPITE FALLING SHORT OF THEIR ULTIMATE GOAL AGAINST THE SCORPIONS, THE TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS 11U SELECTS HAD A FUN AND REWARDING EXPERIENCE DURING THEIR FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND AT SOUTHWEST OPTIMIST PARK

Beneath a pristine blanket of blue and sunny skies, the Southwest London 11U Scorpions defeated the Toronto Playgrounds 11U 18-9 this morning in a 2025 Southwest London Baseball Association (SWLBA) 11U Select Tournament Semi-Final Elimination Game at Southwest Optimist Park.

Despite falling short of their ultimate goal, the players, coaches and family members of the TP 11U nevertheless had a fun and rewarding experience during their Father’s Day weekend in London.

TP 11U’s journey at the SWLBA tourney began on Friday afternoon with a 14-8 loss against the Richmond Hill 11U Phoenix in their first round robin game.

After a good night’s sleep, Toronto Playgrounds rebounded in lickety-split fashion on Saturday morning with a nitty gritty 8-5 win over the London West 11U Tincaps to earn their first round robin game victory at the SWLBA tournament.

In a tooth and nail battle on Saturday afternoon, TP 11U prevailed 11-8 over the Strathroy 11U Royals to capture their second round robin game win.

With a 2-1 record after the completion of round robin play, the TP 11U earned a berth in the SWLBA 11U Select Tournament elimination round, with a semi-final showdown against the Southwest London 11U Scorpions on Sunday morning.

The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) wishes to commend Head Coach Tom Gingras; Assistant Coaches Lee Brack and Emeka Ubani; Team Manager Raine Davis; and the players of the TP 11U Select Team for their semi-final showing at the 2025 SWLBA 11U Select Tournament.

The TPBA also wishes to commend all the TP 11U coaches, players, parents and family members for representing the core values of TPBA program with honour, dignity and professionalism both on and off the diamond at the weekend SWLBA tourney in London.
