Toronto Playgrounds – Truth and Reconciliation
Today, we pause to honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
At Toronto Playgrounds, we recognize the enduring legacy of the residential school system, and we remember the children who never returned home, the survivors, and the families and communities forever impacted. We acknowledge the truths of our shared history and the need for meaningful reconciliation in our everyday lives.
Sport has the power to bring people together, to create belonging, and to foster understanding. We are committed to making baseball a space where every child feels safe, included, and celebrated for who they are. This includes actively learning about Indigenous histories and cultures, and reflecting on how we can use our platform to support equity, inclusion, and reconciliation in our community.
On this day, we encourage our players, families, and volunteers to take time to learn, reflect, and listen. Together, we can help build a future rooted in respect, healing, and hope.
Every child matters.
