Field Supervisor Role Overview
We are seeking dependable, responsible individuals to support the smooth operation of House League games. This role plays an important part in creating a safe, fair, and positive environment for players, coaches, umpires, and families.
Key Qualities
Calm and Confident Presence
- Can de-escalate tense situations (e.g., parent complaints, coach disagreements)
- Maintains authority without being aggressive
Strong Communicator
- Clearly and professionally communicates with coaches, umpires, players, and parents
- Knows how to give reminders, enforce rules, and address concerns respectfully
Fair and Unbiased
- Does not take sides, especially in conflict situations
- Treats all teams, coaches, and umpires with the same standard
Reliable and Punctual
- Shows up on time, prepared to be visible and accessible throughout games
Youth-Centered Focus
- Keeps player development, fun, and a positive experience as the top priority – especially for younger age groups
Core Responsibilities
Game Oversight
- Ensure games start and end on time
- Confirm diamonds are safe and playable
- Monitor pitch counts or time limits if required
Support to Coaches & Umpires
- Act as the point of contact for any game-time issues
- Provide support or guidance to newer coaches or umpires
Conflict Management
- Step in if a situation between teams, coaches, or parents begins to escalate
- Report serious incidents to the league coordinator or board
Promoting a Positive Environment
- Reinforce the TP values (respectful play, respect to coaches & umpires)
- Be a visible presence that encourages good behaviour from the sidelines
Reporting
- Complete any incident or game reports required by the league

Camp Instructor- Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Summer Camp
Position Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a Camp Instructor and help create an unforgettable summer experience for young baseball players! As a Camp Instructor, you’ll assist with organizing activities, coaching baseball fundamentals, and fostering a fun, safe, and positive environment for campers aged 7-12.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily camp activities including baseball drills, games, and skill-building stations.
- Supervise campers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Encourage teamwork, respectful play, and a love of baseball.
- Help maintain equipment and the cleanliness of camp facilities.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and camp leadership.
- Act as a role model, demonstrating enthusiasm, respect, and a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of baseball skills and rules (training provided).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Experience working with children or youth, preferably in sports or camp settings is an asset.
- CPR and First Aid certification is an asset.
