National Indigenous Peoples Day

Today, Toronto Playgrounds Baseball recognizes National Indigenous Peoples Day, a day of cultural and spiritual significance for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples that coincides with the summer solstice.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to celebrate and learn about the rich histories, cultures, traditions, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island.

At Toronto Playgrounds, we are committed to fostering a community where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued. We recognize that meaningful reconciliation requires ongoing learning, reflection, and action. Through sport, education, and community-building, we strive to create inclusive spaces where all young people can learn, grow, and belong.

Today, we encourage our community to take time to learn from Indigenous voices, celebrate Indigenous cultures, and reflect on our shared responsibility to advance truth, reconciliation, and respect.

🧡 Respect. Inclusion. Belonging. On and Off the Field. ⚾
