IN A BATTLE ROYALE, THE JAYS ERASE AN 8-6 DEFICIT IN THEIR FINAL AT BATS TO PREVAIL OVER THE TERRAPINS IN A THRILLING 2026 TPBA HOUSE LEAGUE BASEBALL 11U MOSQUITO DIVISION TOURNAMENT ROUND ROBIN GAME AT CHRISTIE PITS

Beneath a duvet of warm and tranquil skies, the Jays edged the Terrapins 9-8 in a thrilling four inning 2026 Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) 11U Mosquito Division Tournament Round Robin Game this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 3.

In the top portion of the first inning, the Terrapins jumped out to an early 3-0 lead.

After reaching base on a fielder’s choice, Ambrose (2) made like Bennie and the Jets as he swiped his way around the horn to third base.

Following a one out walk by Eloise (14) that put runners on the corners at third and first, Oliver (6) delivered a RBI hit that advanced Eloise to second and brought Ambrose home with the opening run to the proceedings.

With a keen eye on the prize, Oliver (6) delivers a one out RBI single that gave the A’s an early 1-0 advantage in the top half of the first inning.

Kai (7) drives home the Terrapins second run with a solid RBI hit in the first frame.

After a theft of third by Eloise, Kai (7) connected for a RBI single that moved Oliver over to second and allowed Eloise to score a Terrapins run.

Following a daredevil theft of third by Oliver,  Jack (8) drew a two out walk that loaded the bases.

With aplomb, Terrapins baserunner Oliver (6) executes a daredevil theft of third base in the first inning.

Displaying patience at the dish, Billy garnered a clutch bases loaded RBI walk that allowed Oliver to shuffle home with a Terrapins run.

In a stouthearted effort, Jays starter Evelyn (8) tallied a groundout and a strikeout against the Terrapins in the first frame.

With passion, the Jays answered back in lickety-split fashion with three runs in the bottom of the first inning to tie the affair at 3-3. 

Following a leadoff walk and stolen base by Kai (13), Evelyn stepped up to the plate and cranked an immaculate RBI double that brought Kai home with the Jays first run of the game.

Orly (1) followed with a RBI hit that allowed Evelyn hustle home with a Jays run that made it a one run contest.

Following two Speedy Gonzales steals that moved him over to third base, Orly took advantage of a Terrapins error to zoom home and score the Jays game tying run.

Feasting on a Terrapins wild pitch, Orly (1) slides home with the Jays tying run in the first inning.

In a spirited effort, Terrapins starter Oliver (6) threw a gallant inning against the Jays in the first frame.

With resolve, the Terrapins threatened in the top of the top of the second inning following back to back walks by Gustavo (4) and Niko (3) that put a pair of Terrapins on the discotheque floor.

Cool as a Kirby cucumber, Jays reliever Orly sandwiched a line out between two searing strikeouts to vanquish the threat and send the Terrapins packing in the second frame.

With spunk, Jays reliever Orly (1) rang up two strikeouts and a line out to keep the Terrapins off the scoring ledger in the top of the second inning.

Kudos to Jays second baseman Cade (6), who made a sterling catch on a scorching hot tamale line drive  off the bat of Terrapins batter Simon (5) for the second out!

With the wind in their sails, the Jays put up a three-spot in the bottom portion of the second inning to take a 6-3 lead.

After a leadoff walk by Sam S. (12), Hank (2) stroked a single that put a pair of Jays on the birdfeeder.

Subsequently, with runners on third and second, the Jays pounced on a Terrapins faux pas as Hank advanced to third and Sam S. blazed home and scored a Jays run.

Following a walk and stolen base by Cade, Zeke (5) smoked a Nash the Slash two RBI double down the the third baseline that brought Hank and Cade home with two additional Jays runs.

With two runners aboard the good ship lollipop, Zeke (5) slashes a two RBI double down the third baseline for the Jays. in the second inning.

In an unswerving effort, Terrapins reliever Billy (13) threw a sturdy inning against the Jays in the second frame.

Refusing to go quietly into the night, the Terrapins stormed back with three in the top of the third inning to deadlock the proceedings at 6-6.

Exercising patience at the dish, Eloise, Oliver and Kai garnered a trifecta combination of walks to lead off the inning and load the bases. Following suit, Finn (11) drew a bases loaded RBI walk that brought Eloise home with a Terrapins run.

Following a leadoff walk, Terrapins baserunner Eloise (14) shakes up the Jays defense with a deft theft of second base in the top half of the third inning.

With the bases loaded, Jack (8) delivers a two RBI double that brought home the Terrapins game tying runs in the third frame.

 

With the bases still jammed tighter than a can of Niblets Whole Kernel Corn, Jack delivered a Holy Cow two RBI double that allowed Oliver and Kai to motor home with the game tying runs.

With unbridled fortitude, Jays reliever Samuel B. (3) threw an intrepid inning against the Terrapins in the third frame.

With tenacity, the Terrapins scored two runs in the top portion of the fourth inning to take a 8-6 lead.

After garnering a leadoff walk, Billy made like the Rocket Man as he swiped a pair of bases to get into optimal scoring position at third base.

Simon followed with a groundout that allowed Niko to move over to second and brought Gustavo home with another Terrapins run.

Gustavo (4) slides home to give the Terrapins an 8-6 lead in the fourth finning.

Following a two out walk by Ambrose that put Terrapins at second and first, Niko made the bold as brass decision to steal third.

As Niko charged towards the base with full head of steam, Jays catcher Samuel B. made a bazooka throw done the line to third baseman Kai, who tagged out Niko on a pretty 2-5 play to ring up the third out.

With two outs, Jays third baseman Kai (13) tags out Terrapins baserunner Niko (3) on a 2-5 play in the fourth frame.

In an unswerving effort, Jays reliever Hank (2) racked up a strikeout and a groundout to curtail the Terrapins coup d’état in the fourth frame.

Trailing 8-6, and with no inclination to throw in the proverbial white towel, the Jays proudly donned their rally caps in the bottom of the fourth inning as they came up for their final at bats, fully determined to change their course in the time continuum.

After Philip (7) drew a one out walk, Kai followed suit with a walk that put two Jays on the birdbath.

Subsequently, with runners on third and second, Philip threw caution to the wind as he boldly stole home and pulled the Jays within one of the Terrapins! Kai would move over to third base on the play.

Down 8-6 and throwing caution to the proverbial wind, Jays baserunner Philip (7) steals home to make it a one run affair in the bottom of the fourth inning.

With two outs, Orly (1) powers a clutch RBI double to bring home the Jays game tying run in the fourth frame.

With two outs and the game on the line, Orly delivered a grace under pressure RBI double which brought Kai home with the Jays game tying run!

Following a steal of third by Orly and a walk by Sam C., Orly seized the day as he brazenly bolted down the third baseline like a peregrine falcon and scored the Jays winning run with a MY! OH! MY! GRAND THEFT of home!!!

With carpe diem resolve, Orly (1) executes a ballsy two out grand theft of home to give the Jays a dramatic come from behind 9-8 win in the bottom of the fourth inning.

In a lionhearted effort, Terrapins reliever Simon (5) rang up a groundout and a strikeout against the Jays in the fourth frame.
