IN THEIR 2026 EBA 11U SELECT LOOP SEASON OPENER, THE WHITE SOX MADE THE MOST OF THEIR OPPRTUNITIES TO PREVAIL OVER TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS AT CHRISTIE PITS

Beneath a walrus gumboot ceiling of cool and overcast skies, the Martingrove 11U White defeated the Toronto Playgrounds 11U 12-5 in a six inning 2026 Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) 11U Select Game this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 3.

In the top half of the first inning, Martingrove 11U White jumped out to an early 4-0 lead.

After a sparkling leadoff double by Andy (2), Odin (3) and Cooper (7) drew back to back walks that allowed the White Sox to load the bases.

Throwing down the gauntlet, Andy (2) leads off with a Nasty Canasta double that sparked Martingrove 11U White’s four run fusillade in the top half of the first inning.

With no outs and the bases loaded, Frank (10) strokes a RBI hit to bring home the White Sox’s first run of the game in the first frame.

Andy (2) hustles home to give Martingrove 11U an early 1-0 advantage in the first inning.

Licking his chops, Frank (10) delivered a coffee crisp RBI single that advanced Odin and Cooper respectively over to third and second base, and brought Andy home with the opening run to the proceedings.

With a modicum of grit, Benjamin (11) followed suit and hit into a fielder’s choice that moved Cooper to third, erased Frank at second, and allowed Odin to motor home with a White Sox run.

With a keen eye on the prize, Dalton (18) caps off the White Sox four run assault with an electrifying two RBI triple in the first inning.

Subsequently, with one out and runners on third and second base, Dalton stepped up to the plate and capped off Martingrove’s big inning with a scorching two RBI triple that brought Cooper and Benjamin homeward with two more White Sox runs.

With backbone, TP 11U starter Jacob (16) chalked up a strikeout against Martingrove 11U White in the first frame.

With intestinal fortitude, TP 11U starter Jacob (16) rang up a strikeout against the White Sox in the top of the first frame.

Toronto Playgrounds quickly answered back with a run in the bottom portion of the first inning to trim the deficit to 4-1.

Following a pair of one out walks by Robbie (9) and Levi (10), Jacob hit a sharp cheddar cheese single that allowed TP 11U to load the bases.

With a pair of runners on the dance floor, Jacob (16) strokes a single that allowed TP 11U to load the bases in the bottom of the first inning.

Exhibiting Cool Hand Luke moxie, Martingrove 11U White starter Dalton sandwiched a pair of 4-3 groundouts between a strikeout to snuff out the TP 11U bases loaded threat in the bottom of the first frame.

Putting the pedal to the metal, Martingrove 11U White added three more runs in the top of the second inning to extend their upper hand to 7-1.

However, Maringrove 11U White reliever Frank kicked it up a notch and reeled off three hot tamale strikeouts to end the TP 11U shenanigans in the second frame.

Martingrove 11U White threatened again in the top portion of the third inning following a leadoff double by Benjamin.

With no desire to pussyfoot around the mulberry bush, TP 11U reliever Kyler (13) dispatched the White Sox with three scintillating strikeouts in the third frame.

Refusing to go quietly into the night, TP 11U found its mojo and rallied back with four denture gripping runs in the bottom half of the third inning that closed the gap to 7-5.

Showing poise and perseverance, Ben (8), Robbie and Levi garnered a grand trifecta combination of one out walks that allowed TP 11U to load the bases.

Salivating at the Mandarin Buffet of possibilities on the menu, Jacob delivered a scorching two RBI double that advanced Levi to third base, and brought Ben and Robbie homeward with a scrumptious pair of TP 11U runs.

With a steely eye on the ball, Jacob (16) launches a scalding two RBI double for TP 11U in the bottom of the third inning.

With fortitude, Kyler (13) crushes a wooly mammoth two RBI double that trimmed TP 11U’s shortfall against the White Sox to 7-5 in the third frame.

Craving more, Kyler followed suit with a BBQ smokin’ two RBI double that allowed Levi and Jacob to motor home with two more TP runs that made it a two run affair.

Unfazed, Martingrove 11U White replied with a run in the top of the fourth inning to increase their lead to 8-5.

Following a fervent Nash the Slash leadoff double, Nathan (29) threw caution to the wind as he completed a deft theft of third base that put the White Sox into optimal scoring position.

With prowess, TP 11U reliever Kyler (13) mowed down Martingrove 11U White with three blistering K’s in the fourth frame. In a stellar two inning effort, Kyler surrendered only one run while ringing up six strikeouts against the White Sox.

Toronto Playgrounds threatened in the bottom of the fourth inning following a two out walk by Ryland and a single by Beau (67) that put two ducks on the pond.

With heart, Martingrove 11U White reliever Daniel tallied a pop out, strikeout and a groundout to stave off the TP 11U rebellion in the fourth frame.

Reaching into his bag of tricks, Martingrove 11U White reliever Daniel (30) snuffed out a TP 11U rally bid in the bottom of the fourth finning with a pop out, strikeout and a groundout.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Martingrove 11U White threatened following a single and a stolen base by Odin.

With pugnacity, TP 11U  reliever Ben chalked up three wicked strikeouts to curtail the White Sox insurrection in the fifth frame.

In the bottom portion of the fifth inning, TP 11U continued to battle as Ben reached base with a single and advanced to second base on a White Sox wild pitch.

Refusing to concede an inch, Martingrove 11U White reliever Matteo ended the TP 11U threat with a pair of pop outs and a strikeout in the fifth frame.

Following a searing leadoff triple by Benjamin, Stefano (14) stroked a RBI single that brought Benjamin home with a White Sox run.

After a single by Dalton that put  Martingrove runners on base, Matteo delivered a RBI hit that moved Dalton to second and allowed Stefano to score a White sox run.

Following a single by Nathan that loaded the bases, TP 11U uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Dalton to motor home with a Martingrove run. A TP 11U error on the play also allowed  Nathan to advance to third base and Matteo to scoot home with another White Sox run.

After Daniel hit a ball back towards the pitching mound, TP reliever Ben retrieved the ball and hustled over to the third baseline to make a highlight reel play to tag out White Sox baserunner Nathan before he could reach paydirt at home plate!

With one out and licking their wounds, the TP 11U defense rose up to the challenge when they executed a pretty 6-4 double play that brought an end to the White Sox coup d’état in the sixth frame.

Gamely donning their rally caps, TP 11U continued their good fight in the bottom of the sixth inning with a triple by Kyler.

With guile, Martingrove 11U White reliever Matteo (27) threw two scoreless innings against TP 11U to seal the deal on the White Sox 12-5 victory.

With ice in his veins, Martingrove reliever Matteo brought the curtain down on the proceedings as he sealed the deal on the White Sox victory over TP 11U.
