TRAILING 2-0, THE TWINS RALLY BACK WITH SIX DRAMATIC RUNS IN THE FINAL INNING AND FEND OFF A VALIANT ROYALS COMEBACK BID TO EARN THE VICTORY. THE TWINKIES ADVANCE TO THE SEMI-FINAL ROUND, WITH A SHOWDOWN AGAINST THE A’s.

Beneath a serene canopy of  cool and sunny skies, the Twins prevailed 6-4 over the Royals in a dramatic four inning 2025 Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) House League Tournament 11U Mosquito Division Quarter-Final Game this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

Trailing 2-0 heading into the final frame, the Twins staged an action packed six run comeback in the top portion of the fourth inning to usurp the Royals.

After a leadoff walk by Owen (3), Nolan (10) and Julian (7) followed with back to back singles to load the bases.

Licking his chops, Ben (8) stroked a two RBI hit that advanced Julian over to third base, and brought Owen and Nolan home with the Twins game tying runs.

Following a theft of second base by Ben, Kaden (6) stepped up to the plate and delivered a scintillating two RBI double that allowed Julian and Ben to hustle home with the Twinkies go ahead runs.

Craving some additional insurance, Gray (9) followed with an immaculate RBI triple  that brought Kaden home with a Twins run.

Oliver (13) capped off the Twins six run tsunami in the fourth frame with an up where we belong RBI single that allowed Gray to come home to roost with another Twinkies run.

In a lionhearted effort, Royals reliever Eli (3) faced seven Twins batters in the fourth inning.

Down 6-2, the Royals refused to go quietly into the night as they donned their rally caps in the bottom of the fourth inning in a determined effort to change their fate in the time continuum.

After a leadoff hit, Eli utilized a passed ball and a stolen base to hustle into optimal scoring position at third base.

Cy (10) followed with a RBI single that brought Eli home with a Royals run that trimmed the shortfall to three.

Following a pair of steals that moved him over to third base, Cy took advantage of a Twins wild pitch to score a Royals run that closed the gap to 6-4.

With no desire to pussyfoot around the mulberry bush, Twins reliever Kaden chalked up three electrifying strikeouts to seal the deal on the Twinkies exciting come from behind quarter-final win over the Royals.

In the top half of the first inning, Royals starter Cy took care of the business at hand when he retired the Twins in 1-2-3 fashion with a groundout and two strikeouts that kept the Twinkies off the scoring ledger.

The Royals staked themselves to an early 1-0 advantage in the bottom of the first inning.

After a leadoff walk, Oliver (7) rattled the Twins defense with a pair of steals that moved him into scoring position at third base.

Following a walk by Stefan (9) that put two ducks on the pond, Eli hit into a fielder’s choice that erased Stefan at second, and brought Oliver home with the opening run of the proceedings.

Unfazed, Twins starter Gray tallied a groundout and a pair of strikeouts to end the Royals insurgency in the first frame.

Not to be outdone, the Twins threatened in the top of the second inning when they loaded the bases.

After a leadoff single, Kaden utilized his Grand Theft acumen to steal his way around the horn to third base.

Following back to back walks by Gray and Oliver that loaded the bases, Kaden made the bold as brass decision to come home on a Royals wild pitch.

As Kaden charged down the third baseline towards pay dirt, Royals catcher Cy took receipt of the throw and tagged out Kaden on a gee willikers 1-2 putout at the plate for the first out!

Royals reliever Nathaniel (6) racked up two strikeouts to diffuse the Twins rebellion in the second frame.

Riding atop a John Deere S180 54-inch Deck 24 HP Hydro Lawn Tractor, Twins reliever Oliver mowed down the Royals in 1-2-3 fashion with three hot tamale strikeouts that kept them off the scoring ledger in the bottom of the second inning.

With no inclination to throw in the towel, the pesky Twins threatened again in the top of the third inning.

After a leadoff walk, Xavier (4) threw caution to the wind as he stole his way to third with a pair of derring-do steals.

Sensing opportunity, Xavier made a daring decision to steal home.

As Xavier barreled towards the dish, Royals catcher Stefan took the throw and tagged out Xavier on a nifty 1-2 putout for the first out.

With Cool Hand Luke resolve, Royals reliever Oliver chalked up two strikeouts to end the Twins sedition in the third frame.

In the bottom half of the third inning, the Royals added a run to their crown jewels repository to extend their upper hand to 2-0.

After stroking a leadoff single, Tyler (1) utilized a Twins error and a wild pitch to advance to third base.

With two outs, Oliver delivered a clutch RBI single that allowed Tyler to score a Royals run.

Twins reliever Ben reeled off three strikeouts to extinguish the Royals coup d’état in the third frame.
