TP 10U ‘AA’ Rep Top TP 11U Select 13-7 at 2025 TPBA 11U & Under Tournament

IN AN ALL TP ‘POOL B’ CLASH, TP 10U ‘AA’ REP PREVAIL OVER TP 11U SELECT IN A FRISKY OPENING ROUND ROBIN GAME AT THE TPBA 11U & UNDER TOURNEY AT CHRISTIE PITS

Beneath a serene ceiling of genteel spring skies, the TP 10U ‘AA’ Rep defeated the TP 11U Select 13-7 in a six inning 2025 Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) 11U & Under Tournament Round Robin Game this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

With no desire to pussyfoot around the mulberry bush, TP 10U ‘AA’ jumped out to an early 3-0 advantage in the top half of the first inning.

After a leadoff hit and stolen base by Ezra (10), Jaxson (30) delivered a scorching two RBI inside the park home run that gave TP 10U ‘AA’ a 2-0 lead.

Following a one out walk and stolen base by Ciaran (11), Sam (17) powered a clutch two out RBI triple that brought Ciaran home with another TP 10U ‘AA’ run.

Nonplussed, TP 11U starter Eli (8) rang up two strikeouts and a pop out to end the TP 10U ‘AA’ uprising in the first frame.

In the bottom of the first, a pesky TP 11U squad threatened to rally back into the conversation.

Following a two out single by Eli, Ben (28) drew a walk that put two TP 11U runners on the dancefloor.

 

Cool as a Beit Alpha cucumber, TP 10U ‘AA’ starter Zebby (15) rang up two strikeouts that put a kibosh on the TP 11U comeback bid in the first inning.

Putting the pedal to the metal, TP 10U ‘AA’ added four runs to their Bitcoin account in the top of the second inning to widen their upper hand to 7-0.

Following a pair of two out TP 10U ‘AA’ walks by Paco (26) and Drew (12), Paco threw caution to the wind and stole third base with aplomb. A TP 11U error on the play allowed Paco to hustle home with a TP 10U ‘AA’ run.

With a runner on second base, Finley (18) slashed a grace under pressure RBI single that brought Drew home with another TP 10U ‘AA’ run.

Following a single by Arlo (5) that put two runners on the base, Ezra capped off TP 10U ‘AA”s big inning with a clutch two RBI single that brought Finley and Arlo home with a a pair of runs.

In a workmanlike effort, TP 11U reliever Ben (28) tallied a strikeout and two groundouts against TP 10U ‘AA’ in the second frame.

Refusing to wave the white flag, TP 11U continued their never say die battle as they clawed back with a run in the bottom portion of the second inning to trim the deficit to 7-1.

After a two out single and stolen base by Maxwell (03), Santiago (25) stroked a clutch RBI single that brought Maxwell home with TP 11U’s first run of the game.

During the inning, the TP 10U ‘AA’ combo of catcher Ezra and third baseman Sam combined on a pair of delectable 2-5 defensive putouts that stymied the TP 11U attack.

With one out and runners on second and first, TP 11U baserunner Jacob (16) made a ballsy decision to steal third base. As Jacob charged towards third, TP 10U ‘AA’ catcher Ezra made a cannon throw done the line to third baseman Sam, who slapped an emphatic tag on a sliding Jacob to ring up the pretty 2-5 erasure for the second out.

For the pièce de résistance, Ezra and Sam subsequently combined for another grand 2-5 putout that rang up TP 11U baserunner Nolan (22) for the third out.

Going for the jugular, TP 10U ‘AA’ tallied three runs in the top of the third inning to extend their plurality to 10-1.

Following a leadoff walk by Henry (23), Sam subsequently connected for a dramatic two out RBI triple that allowed Henry to motor home with a 10U ‘AA’ run.

With opportunity knockin’ on heaven’s door, Bo (16) followed suit with a solid RBI single that allowed Sam to score.

During the next at bat, Zebby stroked a single that advanced Bo to third base. A TP 11U error on the play gave Bo the opportunity to blaze homeward with another TP 10U ‘AA’ run.

With pluck, TP 11U reliever Santiago rang up a groundout, strikeout and a line out to curtail the TP 1oU ‘AA’ insurgency in the third frame.

TP 11U threatened again in the bottom half of the third inning.

Following a leadoff single by Kai U (2), Robbie (9) garnered a walk that put two ducks on the pond.

With no desire to monkey around, TP 10U ‘AA’ reliever Ezra dispatched the TP 11U threat with groundout, strikeout and pop out in the third frame.

In the top half of the fourth, TP 10U ‘AA’ tacked on another run to stretch their lead to 11-1.

Following a one out walk and stolen base by Finley, Ezra subsequently delivered a searing two out RBI hit that brought Finley home with a run.

With temerity, TP 11U reliever Nolan curtailed the TP 10U ‘AA’ malfeasance in the fourth frame with a strikeout and a pop out.

Nolan also received a big play from his TP 11U D during the inning. After a leadoff walk and stolen base, TP 10U ‘AA’ baserunner Drew made the bold as brass decision to steal third base. As Drew charged towards third, TP 11U catcher Jacob (16) made a thunderous throw to third baseman Oliver (27), who tagged Drew out on a succinct 2-5 play for the first out.

Refusing to go quietly into the night, the TP 11U attack stirred to life in the bottom portion of the fourth as they scored four to cut the shortfall to 11-5.

Exercising patience at the dish, Ben, Liam and Kai H (7) drew respective walks to load the bases

With two outs, TP 10U ‘AA’ uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Liam and Kai H to advance over to third and second base, and brought Ben home with a TP 11U run.

Following a walk by Nolan that reloaded the bases, Santiago stroked a RBI hit that moved Kai H and Nolan respectively to third and second, and allowed Liam to hustle home with a run.

With the bases still packed tighter than a tin of StarKist tuna, Kai U took advantage of a high pitch to hit a two RBI single that brought Kai H and Nolan homeward with a pair of TP 11U runs.

In a stouthearted effort, TP 10U ‘AA’ reliever Ciaran rang up two strikeouts to extinguish the TP 11U rebellion in the fourth frame.

TP 10U ‘AA’ added two insurance runs in the top of the fifth inning to secure their advantage at 13-5.

Following a one out walk by Ciaran, Sam delivered a double that put TP 10U ‘AA’ runners on the base paths.

With two outs, TP 11U uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Sam to move over to third and brought Ciaran home with a TP 10U ‘AA’ run.

Licking his chops, Bo followed with a clutch RBI hit that allowed Sam to score another TP 10U ‘AA’ run.

In a lionhearted effort, TP 11U reliever Oliver (27) chalked up two strikeouts and a pop out to terminate the TP 10U ‘AA’ insurrection in the fifth frame.

TP 11U scored a pair in the bottom of the fifth inning to close the gap to 13-7.

With two outs, Eli stepped into the batter’s box and delivered a majestic solo home blast into the deep dish pizza nether region of centre field.

Energized by Eli’s shot across the bow, Ben cranked a double to keep TP 11U’s comeback hopes alive.

Jacob (16) followed with a clutch RBI single that brought Ben home with a TP 11U run that trimmed the deficit to six.

Shaken, but not stirred, TP 10U ‘AA’ reliever Ciaran tallied three groundouts to extinguish the TP 11U rally bid in the fifth frame.

With unbridled authority, TP 11U reliever Valentine (99) retired the vaunted TP 10U ‘AA’ batting order in 1-2-3 fashion in the top of the sixth inning with a pair of electrifying strikeouts and a fly out.

Proudly donning their rally caps, TP 11U came up for the last at bats trailing 13-7 in the bottom of the sixth inning, determined to change their fate.

Respective walks by Kai H and Nolan put a pair of runners on base, fanning the comeback hopes of the TP 11U faithful.

With ice in his veins, TP 10U ‘AA’ closer Owen (32) brought the curtain down on the proceedings with a pop out and a double play that sealed the deal on their hard fought victory over TP 11U.
